Dr Eugenio Cillán-García LV MSc FHEA DipECVS MRCVS RCVS and European Specialist in Equine Surgery
Eugenio graduated in 2004 from the University of Extremadura, Spain. Initially undertaking an internship at one the busiest referral hospitals in Spain (La Equina, Málaga); he then travelled to the UK where he joined the Three Counties Equine Hospital in Gloucestershire. During his time at the Three Counties Eugenio he developed an interest in competition and performance horses, especially racehorses.
In 2009 he moved to Edinburgh University to undertake a surgical residency specialising in equine lameness and orthopaedic surgery. During this time, he undertook extensive research gaining a master’s degree in Equine distal limb MRI.
After a brief period in a Specialist equine private practice, he returned to Edinburgh University as a Senior Lecturer in Equine Surgery and Director of Scottish Farriery Centre.
Eugenio is a recognised Specialist of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and a European Specialist in Equine Surgery. Eugenio regularly attends Musselburgh and Perth racecourses and annually Aintree, Cheltenham and Kelso as a treating Veterinary Surgeon. His key areas of clinical interest are lameness and poor performance, as well as surgery and podiatry.
Carolyne Sheridan RVN Practice Manager
Carolyne joined Esk Veterinary Consultants in March 2020 as practice manager. Having been involved in the equine industry from a young age through her dad, who worked as a groom and was involved in many equine activities.
She began working at the Dick Vet in 2001, qualifying as an RVN in 2013, Whilst at the Dick Vet Carolyne spent most of her time undertaking advanced diagnostic imaging and surgical nursing.
Carolyne oversees the day to day management of Esk Vets, she will be the point of contact for our clients dealing with enquiries and invoicing as well as attending race meetings with Eugenio and providing nursing assistance whenever needed.
